Felix is my latest project in the horse world. He is a 3-year-old mainly unhandled Quarter Stock Horse, and after some time settling down from his first great move into the world, he is now starting to relax and investigate rather than run away. His youthful exuberance and playfulness are driving my two older mares to distraction and he has been on the receiving end of some well-placed kicks but doesn’t seem to mind. He just tries the same thing from the other side!
He loves his food and so I have started target training him (a part of clicker training) with quite good results. Alas, the weather has not been nice to us these last few months, first the heat and then the rain, and I have not been able to advance his education much. I’m hoping to get more done now, with temperatures going to something more bearable. This is the first time teaching a youngster so it is going to be very interesting. I will keep you posted 🙂
